the new high-speed railroad <strong>South-Europe-Atlantique (SEA) high-speed line (LGV)<\/strong> linking the city of Tours to Bordeaux have begun and speed will increase up to 352 km\/h over the next days on one of the Reinforced Earth\u00ae structures supporting a track, where commercial speed of trains will reach 320 km\/hr.<\/h2>\n<p>Indeed, for research and development purposes, a Reinforced Earth\u00ae wall which support a track which will be trafficked with speeds up to 352 km\/h (at the time of speed trials before the commercial opening of the line) was instrumented in collaboration with IFSTTAR (The French institute of science and technology for transport, development and networks), to enable a\u00a0<strong>better understanding of the diffusion of dynamic stresses within the structure during the passage of trains.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the\u00a0<strong>reduction of costs<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>faster operation<\/strong>, this type of construction offers a\u00a0<strong>proven compatibility with the dynamic stresses introduced by the passage of trains<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Opening of the tracks is planned for 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>More construction of a high-speed line on France&#8217;s distributor model<\/strong>, the Tours-Bordeaux LGV SEA project is part of\u00a0<strong>a land-use planning scheme<\/strong>, which is mainly the result of decisions made by the last Grenelle Environment Forum.<\/p>\n<p>The Tours-Bordeaux LGV SEA will include\u00a0<strong>340 km of new lines<\/strong>, of which\u00a0<strong>302 km will be a high-speed line<\/strong> and around forty km will be connected to the existing line.
